Temple NAACP officers will be installed Jan. 16
DAVID STONE | OUR TOWN TEMPLE
Dr. Zoe Grant began her tenure as president of the Temple branch of the NAACP on Jan 1, and she and other new officers will be officially installed during a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. program on Jan. 16.
The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 417 S. 13th in Temple. Dr. Charles E. Maze, pastor of the church, will be the featured speaker, and Judge Paul Motz, Bell County Court of Law No. 1, will install the new officers. The public is invited to the program.
Several clergy and leaders of the community will present prayers for the NAACP and the community for 2023. In addition, the NAACP Temple branch will plant five trees — one in MLK’s honor and four tributes representing longtime church, organizational and business members.
