Temple actress to present solo performance at Lake Belton

A Temple woman will present a solo performance of The Woman at the Well on Thursday, April 6 at Lake Belton’s Overlook Pavilion, next to Dead Fish Grill.
Eve Holmans Raine, a 1970 graduate of Temple High School, will offer her dramatic interpretation of the Samaritan woman and her encounter with a stranger at 6 p.m.
“The audience will witness the Samaritan woman having a divine encounter with a stranger at Jacob’s Well,” Raine said. “The stranger reveals that he is the Messiah. The audience will, I pray, experience God’s transformational power from the inside out right along with the Samaritan woman.”
“I crafted the script using the New Living Translation for the Book of John, Chapter 4, as well as Richard Exley’s book, Encounters with Christ,” she said. “I will use two pieces of music — one for an opening pantomime, the other for a closing testimony of John 3:16.
Raine is no stranger to performing The Woman at the Well. In 2016, she was certified through the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to provide programs at Texas prisons.
“I presented one- to two-hour programs in several Texas prisons with my ministry partner at the time,” she said. “The Woman at the Well was part of my program. I’ve performed the program at various Central Texas churches and at the Bell County Expo Center for a Christian Women’s Conference.
Raine said the free program should last about a half hour. Seating is limited — those attending may want to consider bringing a lawn chair. The show starts promptly at 6 p.m.
“This is not something that can be understood and fully appreciated by arriving late,” she said. “I strongly encourage my audience to arrive, park in front of the Overlook Pavilion, and get situated before the start time.”
